Who We Are and What We Do

The industry is generally dominated by a few big Corporates being supported by the western and Russian oil companies. Silversands Petroleum is a medium sized company, registered in Zimbabwe with the Ministry of Energy and Power development License # Sil /307/009; in RSA with reg # 2017/056813/07 and with the Department of Energy, wholesale licence # W/2021/0106, aspiring to become a significant player in the industry in Sub Saharan Africa region.

Due to its size and industry position Silversands Petroleum took a strategic decision to partner with reliable international refiners and traders to achieve consistent supply of petroleum products. A long standing partnership with Refineries has gone a long way in stabilizing the supply side of Silversands Petroleum operations and so gives Silversands Petroleum a stronger footing in the Africa market.

The current market consumption in Zimbabwe is between 40 and 60million litres of diesel, about 30million litres of petrol and about 10million litres of illuminating paraffin. The figures hover around the same for Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). All three countries also have a market for Jet A1, Silversands Petroleum handles inquires in all fuel products: Crude Oil, diesel, petrol, and illuminating paraffin, jet A, LPG, Bitumen and HFO.
